Beginning in the Fall of 2018, a new fast casual restaurant and bar will occupy one of the new dining and retail spaces being developed in the Village of Gambier. José Avalos, owner of the two Fiesta Mexicana restaurants in nearby Mount Vernon, is partnering with Kenyon to bring Chilitos Fresh Mex and Margaritas to Gambier.
The official conclusion of the 2016-17 academic year is an excellent opportunity to share a number of updates from Kenyon’s Civil Rights Office.
President Sean Decatur updates the Kenyon community on changes to card access on campus. After careful consideration, including pilot programs in McBride and Watson Halls and discussions with Student Council, the College will limit access to only the residents of each residence hall at all times of day beginning in the fall of 2017. Over the summer we will take steps to ensure that non-residents will be able to reserve and use student lounges and access shared laundry and that residence halls are equipped with door prop alarms.
Vice President for Finance Todd Burson updates the Kenyon community on the College's new whistleblower policy and hotline, effective June 1, 2017, which can be used not only for finance related matters, but for all other matters including discrimination, harassment, safety and security issues, and NCAA rules violations.
After the Village Market moves to its new location on Chase Avenue in June, workers will prepare the vacated space at the north end of Farr Hall for the Kenyon Bookstore to occupy temporarily.
