Chaired by Brackett B. Denniston ’69, the Kenyon College Board of Trustees met in Gambier on April 20–21. The Board heard updates on the proposed Kenyon Commons project, replacing Olin and Chalmers libraries. The design for the project is still in progress, and no firm timelines for the project have been established.
A letter from President Sean Decatur introduces the report from the Alcohol Task Force, which was formed in Fall 2016 to recommend strategies to address the high-risk practices and behaviors related to the presence and consumption of alcohol on campus.
Janet Lohmann, Kenyon’s dean of students, has been named dean of students at Bowdoin College, effective July 1. She will continue in her current role at Kenyon through June. A national search for her successor will begin immediately.
