Vice President for Student Affairs Meredith Harper Bonham sent the following message to students Friday, January 18, in anticipation of the impending winter storm. Currently, the College is operating normally. We will notify the community via the RAVE alert system should there be a change in operations due to the weather.

President Sean Decatur updates the Kenyon community on changes to card access on campus. After careful consideration, including pilot programs in McBride and Watson Halls and discussions with Student Council, the College will limit access to only the residents of each residence hall at all times of day beginning in the fall of 2017. Over the summer we will take steps to ensure that non-residents will be able to reserve and use student lounges and access shared laundry and that residence halls are equipped with door prop alarms.
A letter from President Sean Decatur introduces the report from the Alcohol Task Force, which was formed in Fall 2016 to recommend strategies to address the high-risk practices and behaviors related to the presence and consumption of alcohol on campus.
The Executive Committee of the Kenyon Board of Trustees recently approved a policy clarifying the College's longstanding ban of weapons on campus. The updated policy continues Kenyon's ban of weapons on campus and requires concealed handgun licensees and active duty service members to secure their handguns in a locked motor vehicle while on campus.
