Kenyon College faculty member Ivonne M. García has been named The College of Wooster’s first chief diversity, equity and inclusion officer, effective June 1. As a member of Wooster’s senior leadership team, García will work closely with President Sarah R. Bolton to build and enact a vision for a diverse, equitable and inclusive community.
Heidi Hansen McCrory, who has served as Kenyon’s vice president for college relations since 2014, has been appointed senior advisor for community relations. In her new role, McCrory will lead Kenyon’s efforts to build effective partnerships with community organizations, business leaders, and state and federal officials. Her appointment reflects the College’s increasing commitment to strengthening ties in the region.
Janet Lohmann, Kenyon’s dean of students, has been named dean of students at Bowdoin College, effective July 1. She will continue in her current role at Kenyon through June. A national search for her successor will begin immediately.
Jennifer Delahunty, associate dean of admissions for the West Coast, recently announced her plans to retire. President Sean Decatur expressed gratitude for her years of distinguished service.
The Kenyon Staff Council is expanding its membership to better represent Kenyon employees from all divisions and may include, for the first time, union members if they win election.
