Kenyon College Alert: A power outage continues to impact campus. While AEP currently estimates that the issue will be resolved before midnight, the College has made plans to ensure the safety of students should the campus be without power overnight.

All students remaining on campus will be housed in Old Kenyon, Hanna, Leonard, Bushnell and Manning tonight, which will continue to operate with steam heat. If you do not currently have a room or a friend in one of these residences, you may stay in one of the common areas. All other residences will close at 5:30 p.m. They will reopen tomorrow from 7 a.m. to noon so that students may retrieve items before break.

Beginning at 5 p.m., the five residential buildings listed above will be secured for the night, and all students will be granted card access to these residences. Portable generators will power the IT closets in these residences so that Wi-Fi will be available.

Peirce Dining Hall will serve dinner tonight from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The Bookstore will extend hours until midnight so that students may continue to charge their devices.

Students should contact Campus Safety at 740-427-5555 in case of an emergency or to be connected to on-call medical and counseling services. For non-emergencies, contact Campus Safety at 740-427-5000 or 740-427-2131, or email reslife@kenyon.edu.
