Community Roots believes that sustainable agriculture and gardening practices are crucial for combating food insecurity and poverty. They achieve this through educational programs for elementary school children, formerly incarcerated individuals, and other community members interested in getting involved.
At Kenyon, engagement with the communities of Central Ohio takes many different forms. Starting in 2016, Sarah Jensen ‘18 worked with the Knox County justice system to pioneer a new way of participating in community life: the Knox County Juvenile Mental Health Court Mentoring Program.
