Vice President for Student Affairs Meredith Harper Bonham sent the following message to students Friday, January 18, in anticipation of the impending winter storm. Currently, the College is operating normally. We will notify the community via the RAVE alert system should there be a change in operations due to the weather.
Kenyon College faculty member Ivonne M. García has been named The College of Wooster’s first chief diversity, equity and inclusion officer, effective June 1. As a member of Wooster’s senior leadership team, García will work closely with President Sarah R. Bolton to build and enact a vision for a diverse, equitable and inclusive community.
Last spring, President Decatur appointed an ad hoc committee of students, faculty and staff to propose concrete plans for moving Kenyon closer to its ideal of being an open and inclusive community. After inviting and reviewing input from across campus, the Community Planning Committee recommended that the College focus on four areas of action. We are pleased to update you on several initiatives now underway in response to the recommendations.
Civil Rights/Title IX Coordinator Samantha Hughes addresses the U.S. Department of Education draft of proposed new regulations that would replace the current interim federal guidance regarding the enforcement of Title IX. She affirms Kenyon's commitment to promoting and providing a campus environment that is free from sex- and gender-based harassment and violence.
Kenyon College Alert: Update at 5:22 p.m. on November 16. Power has been restored to campus. All residences will remain open. Dining will close at 6 p.m.; bookstore at 11 p.m. Happy Thanksgiving!
