A Summer of Reading
With application season finally coming to a close and a new summer beginning, it is time for some fresh summer reading suggestions. This year, instead of giving a list of some of our favorite summer reads (you can find those here), the Office of Admissions invites you to join our online book club. Once a week this June and July, we will post a review of that week’s book and invite you to take the conversation further in the comments section and on Twitter. Below, you will find the schedule and title of each book, written by a Kenyon author or friend of the College. We look forward to a summer of great books and discussion!
June 1: Something Under the Bed is Drooling, a Calvin and Hobbes collection by Bill Watterson '80
June 15: Seven Ways We Lie by Riley Redgate*
*Riley Redgate is the pen name of Rioghnach Robinson '16, an economics major who published her first novel two months before graduation.
June 29: Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs '00
July 13: Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green '00 H'16 and David Levithan
(Bonus: Want to hear more from Green? Watch his moving Commencement address at Kenyon.)
July 27: A Door into Ocean by Joan Slonczewski, the Robert A. Oden, Jr. Professor of Biology
