Sept. 16, 2020: COVID-19 Dashboard Weekly Update

Office of Communications
September 16, 2020

Dear Kenyon College community,

The College has now completed three rounds of COVID-19 testing for all students in residence and, on Monday, transitioned to its process of testing a quarter of students on a weekly basis. To date, the College has received 3,426 total test results, 895 of which were received in the past seven days. We have received one positive test result in the past seven days, as was mentioned in a Sept. 10 email to campus. One student is currently in quarantine. Data will continue to be updated weekdays on the College’s online dashboard. To assist with the daily health assessment that is required of all on-campus employees and students, Kinsa smart thermometers have been distributed to all students in residence and all employees; please direct questions to health@kenyon.edu (students) or hr@kenyon.edu (employees).

As part of Kenyon’s ongoing commitment to address some of the logistical challenges of studying remotely, students with student employment (work-study) as part of their need-based financial aid package will have their employment expectation reduced to $0 during their remote semester and replaced with a refundable need-based employment grant. Checks will be processed later this month. Eligible students should watch for an email confirming the address to which their check should be mailed. Please contact the Office of Financial Aid at finaid@kenyon.edu if you have questions.
