One of the most highly anticipated Kenyon traditions is Fandango, an event thrown this past weekend that was exclusive to seniors and faculty and marked 100 days until graduation. Everyone gathered in Gund Ballroom to celebrate the remaining few months of the academic year. I sat down with three seniors who work in the Office of Admissions to see how they’re feeling as graduation nears ever closer.
This is an intimidating post to write, as last year’s 5 Things to Do After You’ve Submitted Your Kenyon Application was seriously on point. So for this round, in order to up the ante, we’re going for lucky number 7 things to do after you’ve applied. Also, please know that this mainly might be a lineup of things I aspire to do once I finish reading your fantastic applications. (Oh, how the tables have turned.)
Why apply to Kenyon? While we could go on forever about our breathtakingly beautiful campus and brilliant faculty members, we only have nine days left until the Jan. 15 application deadline! So, we will save you some time by narrowing down our response to nine of our favorite reasons to apply.
Despite the fact that much of the last month in Gambier has felt like spring, as the Starks say in Game of Thrones, “Winter is coming.” Our office staff share some of their favorite things to do and books to read during Ohio’s colder months.
Google “Ohio,” and you’ll get a few predictable results. Yes, we grow a lot of corn here. Yes, there is a fairly famous college football team here. And yes, there is an office building shaped like a giant basket. But none of that is why you should consider spending your college years in Ohio. (OK, the basket is pretty cool.)
