Class of 2023
Major — English and Spanish with a concentration in Latinx Studies
Hometown — Athens, Georgia
A first-year with both Southern and South American roots passionate about education and immigrant rights. A part-time camp counselor and full-time musical theater fan who dreams of one day being a teacher. Outside of blogging, I’m the secretary (and upcoming VP!) for Kenyon’s First-Generation Low-Income Student Organization (FiGLI), a Spanish apprentice teacher and a member of Alpha Sigma Tau! I'm also a big fan of lists and making a good canvas painting.
In the midst of all the uncertainty about school and online classes, getting my pencil case in the mail was a sign of comfort. It was like having a little piece of my Kenyon experience with me again, a small constant in an ever-changing time.
I'm from Athens, Georgia, home to the big, Southern, Division I University of Georgia. I thought I had the college thing down — which is why coming to Kenyon surprised me in all kinds of ways.
