Lover of knitting, cats, and hot baths, I spent most of my childhood pretending to be British and watching and reading Harry Potter at the same time to see if I could finish reading first. Now I'm cool.
It's gotten to that point in the summer where all the days are mixing up and I don't know who or where I am. I had a blog post due sometime last week, but here we are. Luckily, during my hazy absence, I managed to experience a little bit of Kenyon.
I think one of the things I was most excited about for college was my room, which in hindsight reveals that I didn't exactly grasp what college was supposed to be, but I digress. I wanted to both create my own space but at the same time create an exact replica of my room at home. I brought everything. E v e r y t h i n g. And I used maybe a third of it. The only time I touched the rest of it was moving it into my room and then moving it back out at the end of the year. I thought I'd have it down by the time I was a sophomore, but even this year I found a few rather bulky things gathering dust. In order to relieve you of the burden of cramming all your earthly possessions into one car, forcing you to be cheek-to-cheek with your sister for an eight-hour ride, I've made a short video detailing some of the more common and useless things I've seen sneaking their way into people's rooms.
I know this is the last thing anyone wants to think about right now, seeing as I'm sitting at home sweating on my bed, but it's never too early to start preparing. Ohio has the weirdest winters. You won't know what has hit you.
In some ways, I feel like this post is me introducing myself all over again, not as a figurehead, but a classmate. Another round of admissions has passed and there's a whole batch of future Kenyon students gearing up to make that trek up the hill. Before you do, there are some things you need to know.
At least, that was the original plan. Turns out, certain events and substances distracted me from my original goal, but the pictures I did get accurately sum up my weekend better than any instagram could. Read on to see!
