Class of 2018
Major — English and Sociology
Hometown — Centerburg, Ohio
I'm a fairly typical Kenyon student: a lover of "Parks and Recreation" with a passion for reading and writing and a talent for involving myself in as many activities and organizations as possible — Not For Sale, Her Campus Kenyon, Business and Finance Committee, and the Knox County Animal Shelter.
During this past summer, I had the opportunity to travel to Tecpán, Guatemala. Over the course of a week, a group of approximately 30 other college students and I spent our mornings volunteering at a local elementary school. While there, I found myself reflecting on my experiences at Kenyon.
Now that I’m a sophomore at Kenyon, I can’t image myself studying anywhere else. Looking back on my high school years, I’m glad I put in so much time and effort exploring my college options to find the one that best fit my needs.
The transition to college life isn’t easy. One of the biggest adjustments I — and probably most other students — had to make was learning to live with a roommate.
