I recently hurt my hamstring playing soccer so currently I cannot run…… BUT I CAN SWIM and Kenyon is a great place to go swimming!!! Here is a professional picture of the KAC pool. I decided this would do it more justice than a picture taken with iPhone. This also got me thinking……… what is it like to be a legendary Kenyon swimmer? So I interviewed Dru, my apartment mate and a member of the much loved Ladies swim team.

Fourth of July at Kenyon. Fun in the sun rain!
It's gotten to that point in the summer where all the days are mixing up and I don't know who or where I am. I had a blog post due sometime last week, but here we are. Luckily, during my hazy absence, I managed to experience a little bit of Kenyon.
Rabbits are demons. First piece of advice: Don't get a rabbit.
Manduca sexta larva more commonly known as the the Tobacco Horn Worm is used as a model organism here at Kenyon College. It is studied by Professor Itigaki, Kerkhoff and Gillen mostly, in order to better understand areas of their desired research. I currently am using these organisms, which grow 10,000 fold in size from their hatching to pupating stages, to study gut protein function. One of the senior Manducas decided to experience Kenyon life outside the lab on a Saturday evening earlier this summer.
