It is a time-honored tradition at Kenyon College that seniors get to complain about being seniors as much as humanly possible. The phrases “comps” “grad school” and “I’m going to have to live in a box” comprise approximately 80% of all conversations. The dirty little secret behind all this kvetching is that senior year is actually pretty awesome, despite (and even because of) the extra work and looming prospect of the Real World.
And so, without further ado, a list of the top 3 best things that you can look forward to your final year on The Hill...
At Rehearsal and on the Road (sort-of) with the Guys in "A Sassy Nation"
Kenyon cats are a staple of the campus and, if you listen hard enough, you'll find they have a lot to say. I ran into this lil' guy outside the Registrar Office a few days ago, and decided to get the scoop (get it? Like litter box scoop. It's funny. Ha.).
Once a week for the past three and a half years I've eaten lunch at the Gambier Deli with my roommate Jackson. We've eaten everything from glorious breakfasts like the Mickey Eggs Sandwich (pictured below), to grilled chicken pitas such as the Greek Eats, and brunches like the protein rich Steak and Eggs. Never, however, in all three and a half years, have I managed to name a sandwich on the Deli's glorious menu.
Until now.
