We crossed into Canada a little before midnight under torrential rains and the stony gaze of the Customs official. Our car was carrying three Kenyon students, a Scrabble board, and a collection of alcohol, which we had to quickly convert to rough metric measurements. We were headed for Toronto, in the exact opposite direction of where more reasonable college seniors on their last spring break should be driving, but I had someone special to visit up north.

Or: avoiding The Scarlet Letter (#seniorcompsproblems) while instead having a surprisingly fun, unexpectedly Kenyon-y week at home. Sans tropical beach, sadly.

(The opposite of my spring break)
Dear Fine Friends,
On Saturday, February 23rd join us in Morgan 5 for a Tour de Crepe.
This will be a prixe fixe menu of price TBA with the following dishes...

("I Lost my Heart at Barney Greengrass" or its alternate name "Old Man Ben")
It goes without saying that Kenyon is a small school. While the music scene is very present, Gambier, Ohio doesn't attract the big names that you would normally get at a larger state school. The beauty of this, however, is that it allows you to discover new bands that you never even knew you liked! Last year, The Lumineers came (this was before "Ho Hey" took off). This past week, it was Lake Street Dive.
In which, Frances flips her lid about having to leave The Hill
